Date of Birth: Around 1925. I am trying to find information for my mother who was adopted in 1947. My mother was born Joy Lorraine Cameron on 27/3/1947 at the WomenÂ’s hospital in Broadmeadows & was adopted by Ellen & Richard Grant through the Catholic Adoption Centre. My mother was baptised on 17/4/1947 at St.Georges Church in Carlton by Rev. Father J. Egan. We believe her mother was born Mary Clare (or Claire) Cameron around 1925. She may have got married around the 1940`s into the name McGee or McGill. We believe Mary was age 22 at the time & was a clerical worker. She was described as tall. slim. fair. neat in appearance. nice looking & a quietly spoken intelligent girl - which all sounds much as my mother (Carmel Kathleen) is now.
